Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell
I think this policy should be abolished. Attitudes have changed and gays are more openly accepted in society today. I find this topic interesting because I wonder to myself what does being gay have to do with following orders and shooting people. Being straight does not mean that your a better soldier than a homosexual. They pose no threat at all being in the military. I think that when they created this policy, people were uncomfortable sleeping in the same bunker as a homosexual, but people could have been sleeping with homosexuals the whole time and not even noticed. Just because they found out that the soldier is gay, doesn’t mean anything has changed and they definitely should not be discharged for it.
